Today

Just thought I would do a quick update on what happened today so I would NEVER forget it.

Thursday I was helping Mercer Anne go potty (its funny because she peed in her pants twice that day and she finished the day in a diaper because I just couldn't take it anymore) and I came out of the bathroom and Woodson had a funny look on his face.  I can't remember for the life of me what he was holding, but something made me ask him "did you stick that up your nose?".  He didn't respond and I took a quick peek, didn't see anything, he seemed fine so we moved on with our day.

Later that night he seemed a little puny and then he got up twice during the night.  Finally he ended up in our bed because he was so puny.  By the morning I smelled something funny.  By the end of the day Friday all I could smell was this foul odor coming from Woodson's face and I noticed clear liquid from his nose.

I convinced myself I was overreacting because I seemed to be the only one who could smell the odor.  It wasn't until Richard came home that he said he could also smell it... Even later that night mom admitted she smelled it too.

I had actually forgotten about the nose incident until I remembered a friend of mine telling me their son stuck chicken up his nose and they didn't make it to the doctor until there was a foul odor (which they thought was him just not brushing his teeth).

So I called the doctor at 7:40 this morning and said I thought maybe something was in Woodson's nose.  They asked me if I knew something was up there or if he just had a bad cold.  I was like, if I knew something was definitely up there, I would have taken care of it earlier - I would not have waited until there was a bad smell to come in...right??  So in we go.

The doc still isn't convinced there is something wrong with him.  So she checks his ears first...which are fine.  And then she looks up his nose. And yes, she says she sees mucus.  And she asks me does she want me to squeegee it out - YES, OF COURSE I DO.  So she starts squeegeeing and the smell gets worse.  Then we see it.  The white THING.  She tries to scrape it out.  Nope.  Not coming out.  Then she tells me I might just have to go to the ER to get it out because ENT's don't have office hours on Saturday (great).  I'm like, can we try?  Then she goes to get the alligator forceps.  Together we pin him down and go for the gold.  Out it comes.  And we all gag with the smell that fills the room.  I have included a picture.  I am still not sure what it was.  But I am glad it is out.  And so is Woodson.

PS - There is still no B3.  We are on track for a Feb 21st baby.
