Tuesday night we went with our new playgroup to Mapleview Farms. It is a dairy farm and they make ICE CREAM! We had a hayride tour of the facility which was fun even without the tour. But, as you can see the twins were mesmerized by the "cows".
We "moo'd" through the entire hayride even when we weren't seeing the cows.
After the hayride we were able to pet some of the other animals on the farm. Mercer Anne was right up there, front and center trying to squeeze her way in. Woodson held back a little and mostly wanted to hold my hand. But, with a little coaxing from me and sissy, he did make his way "close" to the animals.
After our tour and animal petting, we had a picnic dinner, played in the hay and had some delicious ice cream.
I do have to toot my own horn for a quick second...I had a forward thinking mothering moment and I was so proud of myself when other moms did the same after me. Of course they wanted a cone. I knew the ice cream was going to come off that cone in about 2.2 so I ordered the cones, let them carry them out but got cups and spoons too. sure enough, the ice cream fell off seconds later and before crying could ensue I had the ice cream in the cup. The best part...they could still hang onto their cone for good measure!
Have a great weekend!
