Playtime & Pregnancy commentary

We have been doing a lot of playing outside. Literally whenever it is not raining, we are outside. The yucky weather is not good for any of us. These pictures were taken one day after lunch but before "nap" (dun, dun, dun). These guys love to play and have so much energy. I sometimes wonder how teachers with tons of two year olds keep up with all of them...It could just be that I am almost 36 weeks pregnant too.

I LOVE this picture below. These are their balls and they LOVE playing with them:-) This is probably one of the cheapest, longest lasting toys we own. I bought them at Wal-Mart in Augusta when they were having a breakdown. They survived the move and are still a cherished outside toy. The best part = they cost $1 each. I always have to remember - 2 year olds do NOT care how much you spend on them!!

Oh and side note: I went to the doc on Thursday and they measured me and said all was good. I feel so blessed. Then I went to have my blood drawn (NC requires a 1st trimester screen for HIV/AIDS and a 3rd trimester screen). While I was in there a short woman who was huge (and I thought she was probably having twins) came in and needed to lie down bc she felt sick. I mean, the pregnant girl was HUGE. I didn't look anywhere close to where she was. I am sure of it. Anyway, the lady drawing my blod asked me to sit back if I could. Then laughed to herself and said she forgot that some of the more pregnant girls couldn't do it. I just ignored the comment. Then she asked how many weeks along I was and I told her 35.5. She then felt the need to say "are you sure they didn't miss a heartbeat? are you sure you aren't having twins again?" WHAT? Again, I politely responded that I was SURE since I had both done it before AND since the lady behind the curtain was LITERALLY TWICE my size I am thinking what is this lady thinking? She didn't stop. When I stood up, she was like, "Whoa, whatcha think yer havin" and I said kindly and with a smile, "I don't know, it is a surprise". She said, "definitely a boy". And then continued and she laughed, "you low and you big, you not gonna make it much longer". What?! I am serious. I actually did not take it personally because the comments were so much crazier when I was pregnant with the twins, but I couldn't help but think that this woman just didn't have any sense. Why do people think that pregnant women want others commenting on their size? Either large or small, it is personal. It is kind of like weight. You don't walk up to someone and say, "whoa, you are so skinny you look anorexic" and you certainly don't say, "whoa, you are so big, you must have to eat a dozen or more krispy kreme doughnuts a day". Amazing. Note to self: NEVER, EVER comment on a pregnant person's size. Just say (deserving or not, true or not), "you look fantastic", "pregnancy really agrees with you". If you can't come up with that, say nothing.
