potty gift premature?

Friday we took no naps.  It was an extremely exhausting day.  We had our last little gym class followed by the park and I was totally baffled when no one was tired.  So, around 3 PM - I was hearing my name on repeat being called through both doors and I gave in.  They had both been promised a potty train gift when they were both done.
Of course I decided to take them to TOYS R US.  Not sure what I was thinking.  It wasn't as bad as I had imagined.  The kids were completely overwhelmed by the number of toys they didn't know where to start.  We walked back to the section marked "toddlers" and found princess heaven.  MA proceeded to pick up and put down no less than 15 items before she settled on a princess cell phone.  (which she now talks on 90% of the day.  No seriously, she talks to Santa and JJ and Nana and Taco and Popi and MawMaw and Granddaddy.  Sometimes she talks to the Easter Bunny.  FOR REAL.
Woodson knew what he wanted. He wanted a "car".  He was so precious grabbing my arm and literally pulling me from the princess section.  He told me he wanted a big car.  There were no less than 15,000 different cars. Where to start.  I picked up 2 before I picked up this one.  He said yes.  And was done.  God Bless little boys who know exactly what they want.
Ironically Woodson hasn't used the potty in the toilet  AT ALL today - instead, the couch, the chair, the floor have all felt like the right place....
In other news Elizabeth Grace is now 17 weeks old!  Yikes...where does the time go.  She is smiling and laughing up a storm.  So sweet!
 And, MA cuddling with dad.
Woodson holding EG - in this picture she kind of reminds me of her older cousin Isla when Isla was a baby...

  1. MA talking on the cell phone to the easter bunny cracks me up! I'm so glad you document all these funny things, I know you are too! :)
